Please explain the outstanding contributions of the nominee during the month of nomination

When I think of Brian Darby, I think of a young man who possesses the qualities of integrity, compassion, and dependability. Brian is a transfer student here at Winthrop University so this is his first year here. Over the past few months of school, Brian has proven that he is an important asset in Lee Wicker Hall. He has shown his dedication in so many ways.

This shining resident is very involved with Residence Life related activities as well as activities related to his Faith. He maintains an equal balance between his academics as well as his extracurricular activities. Currently, Brian is the NCC-IT of the Resident Student Association here at Winthrop, and he takes this training position very seriously. He is devoted to learning and serving others through this position as much as possible. Because of his love for the Resident Student Association, he has attended various regional conferences as a way to become a better leader while meeting fellow students who share the same passion that he has. Brian has attended SAACURH, SCORE, and he will be attending NAACURH this coming June. He seizes every opportunity that he has. In addition, he is currently going through the process of becoming a recognized member of NRHH here.

In addition to the abovementioned leader positions, Brian is also the found of The Lion’s Den, which is a Christian organization that provides fellowship opportunities for students across campus. Brian is also the Vice President of Lee Wicker Hall, which he is really dedicated to. To help pay his way through school, Brian has been working at Bojangles. Every since taking on the VP role, Brian has been leaving work for his lunch break at 6:50 pm on Mondays in order to make it to all the Hall Council meetings. He refused to allow this time conflict to hinder his ability to lead. Brian exemplifies true exemplifies dedication.

Brian is now in preparation for being a Resident Assistant for the coming Fall semester where I know he will once again prove himself to be a strong, dedicated leader. Brian displays exceptional work ethic, character, and dedication.
