Charissa Niedzwiecki does an outstanding job at teaching CST
334 Gender Communication. She teaches the material in a way that
everyone in her class can understand and relate to. She facilitates
enticing class discussions on how communication between men and women
is different. But professor Nieddzwieki not only does what would be
typical in this classroom setting but she pushes us to go above and
beyond, to think outside the box. An example of this is that she
encourages her students to attend educational opportunities on
campus. This month she encouraged her students to attend events
like "The Vagina Monologues" to get the perspectives that those women
have to offer. Last week professor Niedzwiecki invited an LGBT panel
to come into our classroom. In this way she provided us with a safe
space to ask questions and learn about some amazing individuals who
bravely came to talk about their lives and experiences. I think
professor Niedxwiecki deserves recognition for encouraging students
with small extra credit to attend campus events and to take ownership
of their education. Word Count: 176
