Please explain the outstanding contributions of the nominee during the month of nomination

Words cannot begin to describe the outstanding contributions that Elizabeth Estell has made to the Nittany Chapter of NRHH. When she began her tenure as co-advisor over a year ago, she entered a chapter that was undergoing a tremendous transformation. Along with an energized executive board and empowered new members, Elizabeth has helped to bring the Nittany Chapter back from years of hibernation.

One of Elizabeth’s major contributions has come in her passion for recognition. She has been instrumental in encouraging staff members to write Of The Month nominations. For the first time in nearly seven years, our Chapter has had OTMs submitted in nearly every category, and had a regional winner last month. Her motivation to recognize outstanding students at Penn State has been an incredible asset to the honorary, and the executive board has nothing but fantastic things to say about her.

Elizabeth’s other primary contribution has been her assistance in helping the Chapter connect with its hundreds of alumni members. After spending nearly a year digging through past programs and archives, this month we finally sent out a mass mailing to all of our alumni members, asking them to update their contact information with us. In addition, we have opened our banquet and induction ceremony to alumni members as well, and Elizabeth has been instrumental in making this a reality.

Elizabeth’s passion and drive has been an admirable quality for the entire executive board and general membership. Her energy is absolutely contagious, and she has been an incredible resource for NRHH. Her two-year term is up this year, and we can only hope that our next co- advisor can have the same drive, passion, and love for NRHH that Elizabeth has continued to display. It is without question that we nominate her for this award and recognition. It is the least we can do for someone who has given so much back to the on-campus community and NRHH Chapter at Penn State.
