Please explain the outstanding contributions of the nominee during the month of nomination

Peter is a first-year BGSU student and a member of the Offenhauer Community. The Offenhauer Hall Council was presented with the opportunity to create a bid for the Hall With It All Award which is presented at the RSA/NRHH Banquet. This bid included a written and video portion and Peter was suggested by a member of the board as the perfect camera man.

Peter is not a regular attending hall council member, but he has made appearances at the meetings and has helped with projects like designing the Offenhauer T-Shirt logo. Our Executive Board approached Peter before spring bread to see if he would be willing to help with the production of our video. He agreed and brought all his camera stuff to school after break, ready to make video!

The Hall Council General Assembly had come up with a few ideas that we wanted to incorporate into the video, but we were not really sure about the rest. Peter didn’t sign up to produce the video, he just planned on taping and editing. However, he came in and took over when the rest of us were not sure what to do and what would look good on camera. He had an abundance of ideas and each vague description of an idea we gave him would be and awesome production by the time he added his ideas, tweaked, and perfected!

When we began filming the video we only had one week to finish it. Peter took 20 plus hours out of his schedule to set up people and scenes for each shot, film, and complete all the editing. Even more amazing, he did all of this in a two day period.

Peter deserves the First Year Student Award for all the hard work he did for the Offenhauer Hall Council video. He took a large amount of his own time to contribute and benefit to our organization when he isn’t an exec board member, owes nothing to Hall Council, and is getting no personal benefit in return. Even though he does not attend every hall council meeting, he has done a great deal to improve the lives of students in Offenhauer and the Offenhauer Hall Council.
