Never has anyone deserved an Of-the-month award more than Morgan
Mills. Morgan is a senior at the University of North Carolina at
Chapel Hill. At UNC-CH she is the Odum Village Community Manager (CM)
whose primary duty is to assist the Community Director (CD) with the
development, management, and coordination of the residential
community. Besides her work with Odum, Morgan is also our National
Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) Society of Janus Chapter Secretary and
the Tunnel of Oppression Stage Director. During the month of March
Morgan has done an outstanding job in all three of these areas and is
most deserving of this award. March has been a very busy time for Morgan, especially with the Tunnel
of Oppression. Although not the co-chair Morgan has done more than her
fair share of work. From recruiting actors, to attending 2 rehearsals
a week, to putting up huge posters, to creating the set design, the
Tunnel of Oppression could not have happened without her. Morgan is
very good at keeping organized and would come to every meeting with a
list of questions that she was determined to get answers to, and a
huge to do list for the other committee members. She would always come
to meetings with a smile on, ready to answer any questions, and be
willing to drive people home. During the nights of the Tunnel Of Oppression, Morgan was a superstar.
She kept the committee and actors on point. She is a dedicated woman
who wanted to make this experience the most impactful it could be.
Every night she would give us tips as to how we could improve our part
of Tunnel and make it run more smoothly. At times the Tunnel got
stressful, but I always knew that Morgan had everything together. I
truly believe that Morgan is outstanding woman who cares deeply about
all aspects of her duties and friends. Sacrificing sleep and
unfortunately a little school, Morgan has been able to leave her
impact on the Tunnel committee, participants, and the Carolina
community. One specific incident occurred when Morgan had to get into a specific
room to get a list of Tunnel supplies. She needed my flex pass and
when she was done she left it at the community front desk. When I went
to claim it from the desk, it was gone. I told Morgan and she
instantaneously called the community office, looked in the log and
began asking questions as to my flex’s whereabouts. She worked with
the CM of this community, as well as the OAs and CD to find my missing
flex. After about a week, I had begun to give up; but not Morgan. She
found my flex among a box of about a hundred others. I am so thankful
for her hard work and dedication for locating my flex pass. She was so
busy and still had the time to solve this problem for a friend.
As NRHH Secretary, Morgan’s job is quite an interesting one. She is in
charge of making sure members attend meetings and encourage them to
participate in NRHH related activities. This year and in particular
this past Month, NRHH has seen amazing dedication from its members;
from their participation in setting up the Tunnel Of Oppression to
selling Krispy Kreme Donuts, she has truly turned our organization
around. I’ve written many OTMs in the last few years and Morgan Mills is the
one who I think is most deserving of this nominations. Her dedication,
commitment, and kindness to her friends and in her extracurricular
activities make her my super hero this month!
