Being a new Community Advisory can often be an intimidating feat, let
alone having to start during the middle of the year with a community
that has already been established. I have been impressed with Amanda
because she jumped into this job head first and whole-heartedly. She
never shyed away from a situation and was always open for questions
and comments. Amanda really took the time to get to know the residents
and connect them to eachother through great programming.
One of Amanda's best qualities as a CA is that she is open and easy to
get along with. I beleive this is what enabled her to jump into
Burroughs hall and transition into her new leadership position so
well.
Not only has Amanda gotten to know her residents, she has put on some
interestings programs. One of them being a communication program
dealing with lego's. Not only was this program organized and
advertised well, it was a success and fun to attend.
Amanda has also been a wonderful addition to the staff. She is willing
to help out with programs and work with her fellow staff members when
working out schedules. She is also supportive to other staff and
government members when listening to issues within the hall and gives
sound advice.
I can also say that Amanda has become one of my great friends. In her
time here, she has not only worked with the residents and other staff
members, but with me as her Co-CA. I was able to give her advice when
she needed it as well as recieve support from her. I can honestly say
that I wish I had more time to work with Amanda because she is an
amazing Community Advisor as well as a beautiful person and loving
friend. Word Count: 297
