Please explain the outstanding contributions of the nominee during the month of nomination

For the month of May, I would like to nominate an incredible and outstanding Residential Community for an of the month at Southern Oregon University, the Outdoor Adventure Leadership community. The Outdoor Adventure Leadership is a unique community based on the student's desire to connect with nature, get involved with the outdoor program, and participate in programming based on the outdoors. This community is run by two fantastic Resident Assistant's that are both very passionate about the outdoor program and participating in outdoor programs with their residents. It is my pleasure to nominate this community for an OTM this month based on their unique and beneficial programming, their fantastic Resident Assistant support, and the wonderful community and environment on campus as a whole.

First of all, the Outdoor Adventure Leadership community has participated in some amazing and unique programs in the last month that deserve mentioning. First of all, all of the programming has been around Outdoor Adventure Leadership and the outdoor program at Southern Oregon University. This community has done programming around mountain biking, slack lining, hiking, swimming and many other outdoor related activities. The amount of programming that has taken place relating to the outdoors has really showed a community passion and involvement with the outdoors and what this particular residence community is all about. In addition to that, the programming for this community always takes place outside, rain or shine to ensure that the residents of this community are able to enjoy the outdoors and participate in what they're most passionate about. The most recent program that has taken place in the month of May was a tie dye program that took place out on the lawn outside the residence hall. This program gave the residents a chance to participate in numerous outdoor activities and games and to enjoy the outdoors during the program. I think this program went well and it was a joy to see the residents of this community get involved that way.

Another strong aspect of this community that gives the Outdoor Adventure Leadership community a strong foundation is the support of the excellent Resident Assistants, Jon and Mariah. Jon and Mariah have been such a positive support and benefit to the residents living in the Outdoor Adventure Leadership community this year. One of the best qualities that both of these Resident Assistants possess is their love of the outdoors and all of their passions for outdoor activities. In addition to their love of the outdoors, Jon and Mariah both always find time to hang out with their residents on a one on one basis and to participate in activities that they and their residents enjoy.

All in all, the Outdoor Adventure Leadership community is an excellent on campus community that has flourished on campus this year. Not only does their wonderful programming and RA support help out this community, but as a whole, the residents themselves have created a positive and successful community as a whole. Residents are not afraid to contribute their own positive ideas for programming and bonding in this community. I have enjoyed seeing the Outdoor Adventure Leadership community grow into the community it has become.
