Please explain the outstanding contributions of the nominee during the month of nomination

Jon Williford deserves to be First Year Student of the Month because he positively impacts the community he lives in on a daily basis. Jon serves alongside James Gilmore as a senator helping to present bills and debating in the Halberdier Club. He is also a studious individual who can be seen in his room studying almost every afternoon, taking his MET courses seriously while setting a good example for others.

While the books are away and the residents are at play Jon likes to be where the people are be it dinner or video games. He has been seen around several floors and in the main lobby of Tarkington engaging people in conversation while attempting to brighten other's days with random thoughts and wacky stories. Many of the RAs have seen him at all hall programs such as Safer Sex 101 and Stress Management just in the last month. Almost everyone in Tarkington has encountered Jon personally or has heard of his antics. Ever since he moved in he has made it a point to make his presence known. Jon is also very consistent in both his schedule and his commitments. By keeping this schedule, the floor is able to know when they can or cannot count on his company for a social endeavor. He also has not missed a single senate meeting and can be heard discussing the topics with other residents on the floor. Jon is exactly the kind of person the university is proud to have in the Residence Halls and should be hopeful of for the future.
