Julie has been an outstanding asset to her floor community, 2nd floor,
as
well as to her hall, Marlatt, in the month of September. As a first
year
student, Julie applied to be a Community Assistant (CA), and was
offered a
position. Julie has been one of the most friendly faces at the front
desk. She does an exceptional job serving students with a
consistently
positive attitude. Julie naturally connects extremely well with
people,
and as such has been an influencer in shaping the dynamics of our
floor.
As her Resident Assistant (RA), it has been wonderful to see Julie
connect
with a wide variety of students on our floor, as well as connect
students
to each other. She does an awesome job promoting floor and hall
events,
and our residents get excited about things that Julie is excited
about. I
consistently see Julie spending time in the lobby visiting with
residents
to help them get involved. Julie has been to every floor and hall
program, and has participated on our floor intramurals team. One of
Julie's greatest accomplishments has been as the Housing Ambassador
for
Marlatt Hall. This is a great accomplishment for a freshman student
to
even hold this position, and she has already done an amazing job
organizing our hall tour team. In just one week, she worked with the
RAs
to compile a list of fifteen students who would be potential tour team
members. Julie personally contacted each of those people, and has
already
recruited ten committed members. It is encouraging to see her
excitement
and enthusiasm for this project! Julie exemplifies what we look for
in
first year students - she has the desire to be involved, an
unparalleled
enthusiasm for her hall, and an ability to connect with students. She
is
very deserving of the First Year Student of the Month award! Word Count: 308
