Please explain the outstanding contributions of the nominee during the month of nomination

I first met Hannah the second week of school. She was waiting outside of her building waiting for the elections to be tallied up for her position. She was outgoing and easy to start a conversation with about the first week of school and had great ideas about how to impact the residents in her hall council. Some say you can't depend on first impressions and I agree, Hannah was impressive at first and has only improved since then.

Hannah is the Vice President of Folk-Caldwell hall council. Her responsibilities include representing her hall to the campus wide legislative meeting, keeping her hall informed about campus wide events and initiatives and teamwork within her executive board. She has fulfilled these duties in a stellar way and even exceeded them in a spectacular way.

During the first month of campus wide legislative council meetings Hannah has displayed an impressive knowledge of parliamentary procedure and used her abilities to guide us through effective meetings and assist other members. She was a major supporter of a poker night bill between five hall councils and was instrumental in it's passing. During the bill's discussion she, even without a lot of experience, upheld financial policy and guided the body to amend bill into a better form.

Our local RHA is comprised of 20 "hall councils" which have their own executive board and are responsible for programming and community building within their residence halls. The Folk-Caldwell hall council has taken off extremely well in the past month, something that could not have been possible without Hannah. They have built a website to communicate volleyball practices and games, whiffleball practices, and intramural soccer. Hannah has also helped implement weekly programs like "Thirsty Thursday's" in which the residents get together, make mocktails and take a break from studying and "Midweek Motivators" in which they do different events all with a M&M theme.

The most challenging and rewarding aspect of working in a hall council is working with new people, on the executive board and in your daily dealings trying to get things done. From an outside viewpoint Hannah has been a great team player and had an excellent group of executive board members to fall back on. She's brought reports back from the campus wide meetings to keep residents informed and asked their opinion on upcoming bills and campus initiatives.

Hannah really has been outstanding this past month. It's really hard to accomplish a lot the first month of hall council but she's managed to quickly get her hall council operational and then exceed expectations. She's excelled on a personal level, surpassing expectations in Legislative council and on a team level, helping her hall council become one of the best hall councils to this point.
