| Origin of Program: RA Beyanca Vinson, Elizabeth White, Evan Harris, and Heather
Kicklighter (RAs in an all
female building) wanted to do a program with the all male hall on
campus to get residents to meet each other. RA Thomas Reid from an
all male residence hall to encourage his residents to come. The RA
then figured that because the male residence hall has both freshmen
and upperclassmen that another upperclassmen residence hall with girls
should be added and that is how Thomson hall became involved. RAs
Dashada Webb, Tremayne McCray, and Kenyatta Jeter came from Thomson
Hall.Word Count: 93 |

| Please give a short description of the program: During the program the goal was to allow residents from various
communities to come together and to do a traditional style of Speed
Dating. The residents were given 2 minutes to get to know each
other with every 2 mintues the males moving around a circle and the
women staying seated. There were conversation starters on the table to encourage residents
to ask different questions. Residents were given the chance to meet
different people from different residence halls that they normally
wouldn't get to interact with. Many residents came out to find a
signficant other for valentines day. The program was very successful because many people were able to
learn about new people. The mood was fun and not a lot of pressure
was put on the participates to have to interact with each other for
a long time. This was a great way to shape up their communication
skills. This program made a difference to residents because it allowed for
them to communicate with each other in a fun and different way. Many
students expressed their concern about how awkward they may feel
about talking with guys and girls that they were unfamiliar with.
However, once everyone arrived with open minds residents were able
to use the fun and decorative atmosphere to help relax their nerves. All the RAs were surprised that 64 residents attended. Most of this
happened because many residents sent text messages and called their
friends to tell them how fun it was and that they should come and
join in the fun. Residents from all over campus came out and
participated making residents who live in Wofford and Richardson
feel as if the program had attracted some new and exciting people.
It helped residents develop better communication skills and people
skills. It was an overall success and residents are asking for a
repeat. Word Count: 307 |

| How could this program be adapted to other campuses? The program definitely could be adapted to other campuses especially
ones that are bigger. Simply by having a bigger space than we used.
Having it on a night that most people don't attend other events.
Also by using different adverstisements according to the schoolWord Count: 44 |
