| Origin of Program: Sierra created a bulletin for her residents with the intent of
informing them about TED talks. TED is an online website that uploads
videos of various speakers. These speakers all come from a variety of
backgrounds and speak on different subjects, but all of them try to
spread their ideas to the world.Word Count: 53 |
|
| Please give a short description of the program: On her bulletin, Sierra put a short description of what TED Talks
are, explaining that it is a website with videos from many speakers.
The topics the speakers cover include entertainment, design, and
technology. She also explains that the speakers’ intent is to bring
people together from many different backgrounds. In addition to the
explanation on TED, Sierra added memorable quotes from some of the
speakers, including the name of the video that the quote came from.
Overall, the bulletin is visually appealing, and it is clear that
Sierra spent time putting the bulletin together as well as gathering
her information. Word Count: 101 |

| Positive and lasting effects of the program: The bulletin that Sierra created has spurred many of her residents
to visit TED.com and watch some of the videos for themselves. One of
these residents is me. After viewing the bulletin, I watched videos
from TED for two hours. I had never heard of TED before reading the
bulletin, and I am so glad that I now know what it is. I found the
videos to be fascinating, inspiring, hilarious, and emotional. After
each video that I watch, I feel that it was time well spent because
of the many valuable ideas and lessons that are taught in each video.Word Count: 101 |

| Short evaluation of the program: The TED Talks bulletin is very successful because it has carried out
its goal of informing residents about TED.com. In addition, the
bulletin is well put together, appeals to the reader visually, and
the idea for the bulletin is a creative idea in itself. The amount
of hard work Sierra put into the bulletin is obvious.Word Count: 56 |

| How could this program be adapted to other campuses? The idea for this passive program can easily be accomplished at
other campuses in the form of a bulletin, as Sierra has chosen. It
must be strategically put together and visually compelling in order
to capture the viewer’s attention. Word Count: 39 |
