| Origin of Program: After hearing stories from other students about their experiences with
fake IDs, Becky decided to create a bulletin board that would target
students during the Fest Season to inform them about the consequences of
a fake ID. Many students were unaware of how severe criminal charges
could be if they possessed a fake ID.Word Count: 54 |
|
| Please give a short description of the program: Using the humor of the film "Superbad," Becky created a large-scale,
fake ID cutout using only posterboard and a dash of creativity. Becky
then went ahead the building and had students take a picture with the
board, then posted each picture on the selected bulletin board. Along
with these pictures, there was key information about fake IDs, risks,
and consequences of carrying one. The board was a hit with residents,
who loved seeing their picture up on the wall, but also gave them
valuable information about carrying fake IDs.Word Count: 89 |
|
| Goals of the program: There were two main goals: One was to get students involved in the
process and to make the board interactive. It was something that
everyone could be a part of and enjoy together. Second, it was a way
to get out information about fake IDs, particularly during Fest
Season, when many students at OHIO are arrested for possession of a
fake ID. The information was direct, helpful, and provided resources
to those who had remaining questions.Word Count: 76 |
|
| Positive and lasting effects of the program: While it gave students an opportunity to be a part of a program within
the building, it also gave them valuable information on the risks and
consequences associated with carrying a fake ID. Many questioned
these consequences before Fest Season and this was their time to learn
more about it.Word Count: 50 |
|
| Short evaluation of the program: The program was a hit with students and with staff. I think it was so
beneficial to the Jefferson Community, but also presents a humorous
side that involved students and staff. Becky's creativity was
substantial and her efforts were so appreciated. Word Count: 42 |
|
| How could this program be adapted to other campuses? I think it could be used in the same way, either through a bulletin
board or a poster campaign. Word Count: 20 |
