| Origin of Program: This program originated from the desire to experience different
cultures
and served as a way to get floor leaders involved and working on their
leadership skills. It was a way to get everyone to work together from
different backgrounds and an opportunity to mingle and meet new people.
All in all, it was a residence hall and community building event.Word Count: 61 |

| Please give a short description of the program: The program started by having each floor prepare and cook a meal from
a chosen culture. The different cultures that were covered were:
Asian, Mexican, German, Indian, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern,
Italian, Spanish, Dutch, and French. The floors then decorated their
lobbies in some way to go along with the culture they were serving.
At 5 o'clock, residents started walking around to the different
floors
to obtain the different food items that the floors had to offer. The
residents mingled with each other while waiting to get served on each
floor and had a chance to sit down to eat with other residents and
made new friends.Word Count: 106 |

| Goals of the program: One of the goals of this program was to get floor representatives
more
involved. We wanted them to be able to use their own leadership
skills to get this task done. Another goal was to get to know about
other cultures and better understand the backgrounds of some of our
international students. The last one was to make new friends while
getting a free meal on a Saturday night.Word Count: 69 |

| Positive and lasting effects of the program: One of the lasting effects from this program are the new friendships
formed from this program. Another positive effect from this program
is that people got to experience a taste of different cultures they
otherwise would not have had any interaction with. Another positive
effect is that the floor governments got to use their leadership
abilities to get the task done.Word Count: 61 |

| Short evaluation of the program: The program was a great success. We had many students going around
the building and learning about different cultural dishes. Students
had a fun time making new friends while eating different dishes for
free. It was an easy way to get people involved and interacting.Word Count: 45 |

| How could this program be adapted to other campuses? This program does not need that much adaptation if any to apply to
other campuses. It is very easy to adapt for other campuses because
you just have to be able to get different floors in a building to
make
the food.Word Count: 42 |
