Please explain the outstanding contributions of the nominee during the month of nomination

Dr. Miller is a professor of Genetics at UTD, and an acclaimed member of the Natural Sciences Department. He runs a busy and successful research laboratory and is really involved with the HPAC (health professions advising committee) for pre-med students. Dr. Miller really cares about his students and does his best to make sure that they are doing well in his course. He has really extended office hours, takes walk ins, and even holds extra classes for students who need it! Right before the last test, many students asked if he would hold a review, and he did- ON A SUNDAY! He came up to the school with reviews printed and stayed teaching and reviewing with students. Dr. Miller is very approachable and willing to help. He understands that his course is really difficult and challenging, but he is with his students every step of the way. Teachers like Dr. Miller are rare. I really believe Dr. Miller deserves some recognition for all that he has done and continues to do for his students!
