Please explain the outstanding contributions of the nominee during the month of nomination

Have you ever met someone and been completely and utterly struck by their passion and dedication? Their personality and the way they carry themselves? Well, that is how I felt when I first met Jessica Crandell. She had come to our hall council meeting to tell us about National Residence Hall Honorary, or NRHH, and within only a couple minutes of her starting to talk I wanted to join. It was not only her passion and dedication for the organization and giving back that drew me in, but also the way she looked at everyone around the table. She was engaging with us through making eye contact with each of us, and thus showing that she genuinely thought we would be great candidates for the organization. I remembered that when I spoke to her later on at an RHA meeting about applying, and it made it easy to talk to her and inquire about the organization and get to know her on a personal level because I did not feel ignored. One of the best parts about NRHH is getting to interact with her. Whenever there is a meeting coming up, she always lets everyone know she is looking forward to seeing us. It just makes me love the organization even more because I feel genuinely appreciated and wanted. I also like how she takes the time to recognize people for doing a good job. For example, she gave a shout out to all the NRHH members in February who submitted OTMs because she thought they did an awesome job on them. It is something so small one is almost tempted not to consider it, but it might have brought a smile to someone’s face or brightened their day and that is what is important. No one owes anyone else praise, so the fact that she takes the time to do this impresses me and makes me proud that she is our president. There are very few people I could describe using the words beautiful, perfect, and wonderful in one sentence, but Jessica is one of them. She is beautiful because of her heart that is almost exploding from her chest, perfect because she is herself and no one else, and absolutely wonderful because she is such a positive influence in the lives of the people she meets. I know very few people that exhibit such exemplary qualities, and that is why I will never forget her.
