"Desire is the key to motivation but it's determination and commitment to an unrelentless pursuit of your goal- a commitment to excellence that will enable you to attain the success you seek." -- Mario Andretti

In September of 2018, Sasha not only had a vision of her goals, but never lacked the motivation, determination, or commitment to help Miami's NRHH Chapter achieve its goals.

Sasha is an outstanding advisor who encourages students to be the best version of themselves. She sees the potential in students, they may not see in themselves. Sasha fosters one-on-one relationships with balancing a large-scale vision of how to elevate the NRHH Chapter at Miami University. Leading by example, Sasha has high expectations for each of her students, which pushes us to try our absolute hardest for our shared goal. Sasha Masoomi has proven her dedication to NRHH for years now. This past September was no different. As Miami University's NRHH Chapter faced hardships due to executive board members leaving, Sasha stayed strong through all adversity.

As the semester unravelled it's hiccups, Sasha stayed as a beacon of positivity and assurance for those who needed her. Multiple nights after frustrating executive board meetings, Sasha would walk me home to have another 1:1 outside of business hours to help me manage our chapter. Sasha has provided countless service opportunities for our members.

I don't think NRHH ever leaves Sasha's mind. Sasha is always looking out for the best interest of others and ways to give back to the community. Sasha is always the first to volunteer for opportunities not in her job description and to go the extra mile. Not only does Sasha demonstrate commitment to leadership and service, but she inspires and empowers those around her to follow her dedication. Along with her professional duties, Sasha serves as the liaison between the Office of Residence Life and Miami’s Cliff Alexander Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life. In September she volunteered for the Suicide Prevention Walk, at the local dog shelter with NRHH members, at the Residence Hall Association Retreat and more.

Impact isn’t built from one large action peice, but consistent, meaningful involvement. Sasha displays this by taking advantage of every small opportunity to be involved in the student community to increase leadership reflection among students and myself. Throughout September, whenever I was feeling overwhelmed or misguided, she always knew what to say by balancing me out to help shape the plan of how to best serve our members.

Sasha can always be counted on for an idea, she has positive quotes, leadership philosophies, service events and recognition ideas up her sleeve to use at anytime. Sasha worked with every executive board member in September to help NRHH achieve it's potential. At NRHH general body meetings, Sasha always has a smile on her face and it sharing a positive attitude, that always spreads to our members.

Currently, I am also applying to graduate school. As September arrived and has now left, Sasha served as a constant mentor, full of advice and wisdom of Student Affairs Graduate Programs. She helped me finalize my personal statement, decide on which schools I am applying to, give me information on each of them and write me a recommendation letter.

Sasha style of leadership and advising have shaped the foundation of Miami's NRHH Chapter. She is determined to achieve her goal of excellence, but is flexibile of how we will obtain that. As September proved a tiresome month, she helped the executive board still achieve their goals of productivity and community feeling, but only by being flexible in ideas.
