Origin of Program: Ashleigh Jambon found the idea from somewhere else and made the idea
her own. she took the time to create something unique and that would
help someone in our community. Southern Miss is surrounded by many
organization that give to those who are in need and this program
focused on the Lighthouse Mission in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She
started this idea back in August and just took off with it. She knew
as just a regular program it would not be big enough so she asked if
CPN wanted this as our all-hall. Through lots of planning and help
from so many people she was able to make this program a success and
help many people as well. Word Count: 118 |

Please give a short description of the program: Resident Assistant, Ashleigh Jambon planned an amazing all-hall for
Century Park North 1-4, Boo Boo Bunnies. Boo Boo Bunnies is an
active program that was organized to help women and children get
through hard times at the Lighthouse Mission in Hattiesburg
Mississippi. The Lighthouse Mission is a Christian based
organization that is geared to help homeless children and their
families get the necessary things they need to get back on their
feet. This program has so many elements and really came to life over
the planning process. A boo boo bunny is a bunny shaped animal that
is made from a hand towel and an ice pack and can be used to comfort
anyone when they are having a rough time. Boxes were placed around
campus to collect goods that could be given to anyone at the
Lighthouse Mission such as toothbrushes and toothpaste, socks,
feminine hygiene products, and school supplies. A few departments
and people around campus got involved to collect items and give back
to support this program. Resident’s halls Scott and Wilbur are
collecting donations as well as the Title IX office. Several Dentist
offices even donated toothbrushes and toothpaste to help this be
successful. These donations are going to a great cause and are going
to be used to positively impact the lives of people at the
Lighthouse Mission. Other than donation collection this program also
called for the hand towels to create the bunnies. There was a
gathering where residents came out and made the bunnies for the
woman and children. There was chick-fil-a and drinks and they had a
good time working on boo boo bunnies with their friends all while
having a great time doing service. Two service hours were also
awarded to those who came out and helped make the bunnies. This
program was a great idea that came together very well. With all this
work and time those woman and children will be very grateful, and
this program is to thank. Word Count: 331 |

Goals of the program: During this program there were many goals and also many parts. The
main goal is to help the many women and children that are going
through hard times at the Lighthouse Mission. When people are in need
it is the duty of others to help them in any way they can. At this
university we believe so much in service and giving back and for a lot
of our freshman residents this was their first time doing a service
project. I hope they felt the joy of giving back and I hope this
encouraged them to try bigger projects and inspired them to help
others as much as they can. Word Count: 111 |

Positive and lasting effects of the program: This program was about giving back and serving the community. With
this program the women and children at the Lighthouse Mission are
benefiting in getting these items that were donated from across campus
and the handmade boo boo bunnies. I hope that the people who are
receiving these donations are grateful and are truly helped by this.
For the students that helped put this program together and that helped
make the boo boo bunnies they will be left forever with the great
feeling of giving back. This will continue the chain of giving and
hopefully impact someone in the future. Word Count: 101 |

Short evaluation of the program: This was a really great program that will benefit' many people. The
process to put this program together was a long one but it was very
successful. So many donations came in and so many people helped make
this program possible. It was an overall great program and a great
experience and such a brilliant idea. However many residents showed
interest in the program and did not come. One thing that maybe could
have been done better is marketing and planning around residents so
that they could participate. The point of the program was to interest
the residents but the appeal may have been weaker than expected. Word Count: 108 |

How could this program be adapted to other campuses? On other campuses this program could be adapted by finding an
organization around the town or campus that needs support or donations
or money and create a program geared to what they need and how you can
help them. There are so many non-profits in this country that need the
help of those with giving hearts. PLace donation boxes all around your
campus and wait promote for people to give to the cause. A college
campus is a great place to do service and give back to the community.
You need hours and your are building character take advantage of the
opportunities. Word Count: 103 |
